I second that question. There are a bunch of little software changes I would like to make.

With you on that! Closest I have found is PSI in Orlando, but the car has to stay overnight.

I am in Tampa and I have coded my car... Not sure how technical you are wanting, but it is pretty straight forward. I have cable and software.

If anyone in Tampa wants to meet up for some programming just send me a PM, so far I have done video in motion and auto folding mirrors with door lock/unlock

UPDATE:

Had a little coding fun this weekend with my and my friends F30s. Pretty straight forward coding multiple cars.

Things coded this weekend:

Car always starts in ECO mode (for my hippie friends)
Activate Sport + mode in non-sport (me of course)
TPMS shows actual pressure and temp
Car ringtone matches iphone ring tone
GPS clock matching
Some more mirror open close with door locks
and I have done video in motion before as mentioned.

If anyone in Tampa area wants any coding done I am pretty comfortable with it now. Just send me a PM

Kapkanimd - can you code all doors unlock when ignition turned off? Would love to get that change done.

I certainly can, it is reported to work, but yours would be the first I have personally done it to.

In addition, I have done a lot more coding since I started this thread including:

flashing brake lights on hard braking
enable sport + mode (in non sport line/m-sport cars)
enable sport automatic transmission
enable launch control (a lot more complicated than regular coding though)
and a lot more..

Thanks for the reply. Maybe we can try to get together in April or May. There are a few changes I'd like:
Doors unlock with ignition off
Disable Nav startup screen
Flashing brake lights
TPMS pressure/temp display

Has the sport auto trans been confirmed as a software only change from the standard 8AT? I've been trying to find documentation on that but haven't seen anything definitive.

Yes, I have been using the sports auto trans for months now, it is definitely a noticeable improvement that I would recommend.

I am in and out of town until April so that would be best for me. PM me your details anytime in April to arrange a time to set it up.

I am back in town and able to do coding for some peeps.. Just send me a PM and we can arrange something.

As far as what can be coded, there is info spread out, but for the most part you can look at the description using the database found here, www.bmw_codingdatabase.com/ (just remove the underscore between bwm and coding)

Otherwise you can look through the 281 pages found here: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696777

I can also bring a list with me that shows everything

Can the dealer tell that you have made changes to the coding (giving them a way to void the warranty)?

From my understanding(someone correct me if I'm wrong), yes the coding can be traced even if you go back and undo it before you take the car in for service. Chances are, if you just go in for an oil change or something minor, they won't say anything about it. I had my car in to have my glove box lock replaced and they didn't say anything about mine, but mine aren't majorly noticeable changes(M performance logo on instrument panel being the most obvious, Tire Pressure/Temp display, video while driving, comfort access windows up with remote, other small things). If you were to go in for "Hey my head unit stopped working" and they found that you had coded it, then chances are they would try to deny it under a warranty claim.

Additionally, if you have the car in for service and they do a software update, more likely than not it will clear away your coding meaning you would have to go back and do it again with updated software.

I'm wanting the following things coded. Are these possible and am I missing anything else big?

-audio starting at last position when car is started (at current playback if using iPod)
-auto folding mirrors with lock/unlock
-TPMS showing psi and temp
-disable warning screen on iDrive at startup
-ASS work in Sport mode
-ability to configure Sport mode in iDrive menu

The only ones I am not familiar with are the last position of the radio and the ASS in sport mode. I am sure they are both possible, but I know the ASS thing is something that is new as mine works in sport mode (unless you mean the sport mode with the shifter to the left). Other than that there are numerous options to code. I can show you a list if we agree to meet up to code or you can do more research now.

Thanks for the info!
So your car will turn off (ASS) when stopped in Sport mode (the button not the shifter to the left)? Mine only will in Comfort or Eco Pro
This thread talks about the current playback coding http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=950004

Still a little confused, nothing/no mode turns off the ASS unless you physically push the button to turn it off, put the car in neutral, or push the shifter to the left, otherwise it is always on. This is how it was when I got the car. I was hearing that there was an update that does what you say (disables ASS in sport mode), I am not sure if there is coding yet to turn it back to the original mode (how mine currently is). I will look into it though if that is what you are asking for.
