Heated Seat

Hey all,
My driver side heated seat shuts off after 5 minutes or so after I turn it on. After it shuts off, I am able to turn it back on. I do not believe this is typical as my passenger side heated seat will not shut off unless commanded to do so.

Any suggestions?

I have it at the dealer overnight now they think it may be the battery....
Thanks for any insight!

I have a 2008 335xi and I noticed something a little similar that happened to me only ONCE, recently.

I was driving from NJ to Chicago and the temps were in the 20* F range. I took a break from driving and then later when I started the car I turned on both Driver/passenger seat warmers. The Passenger seat warmer light was on consistently... however... my drivers side seat warmer would cycle ON/OFF every 5 or 10 seconds. For example... it would stay on for 10s and then off for 10s and then on for 10s (repeat endlessly). It wouldn't matter what heat setting I had it at (It would do this continuously only on the driver side heater on any heating setting).

I could feel the seat being warm at the correct level... but it just annoyed me on the power cycling. After I got to Chicago... I parked the car, I never saw the issue happen again.

I still have the original car battery and I'm at 60k miles and a car build date of 7/2007. Could be an indication that my car battery is on it's way out?

Still wondering if BMW will fix it for free on an out of warranty vehicle. Dealership says I have to pay.
