Performance suspension kit

So this wasn't original plan but I came across a deal I couldn't resist. Scored a brand new performance suspension kit for a steal. A little over $500USD.

It's the new kit, front/rear shocks/struts and yellow springs and the front sway.

So here's my question:

I have an E92 335i Msports. While noseying on tischer to see what the actual price was, I noticed It said that if you have MSports suspension(part S704A, which I do) you need to order the kit with an extra rear sway bar. I don't have the rear sway in the kit I ordered. Is the new rear sway a must? (Obviously I get its probably best because that's what it was designed for) or can I get away with the rear sway I have?

Just asking as this was a whim purchase and I don't have a lot of spare cash ATM, buying the rear sway here would probably cost 1/3 of what I paid for the entire kit.

The new sway you would be getting really is just what most other non M sport 335s already have. If you are paying a shop to install this, I would not bother doing it unless you are already dropping the rear subframe for the bushing upgrade (as you need to lower subframe for rear sway which takes some $). I ended up getting it as I upgraded the subframe bushings but looking back I wish I would have done the 14 mm bar instead.

Agreed in full with solishe.

Not only would buying the rear sway cost close to half of what you paid for the kit (which was an excellent buy, BTW), but the labor for dropping the subframe to install it would probably be just as much as the kit!

Did you ever figure out the difference between the msport package rear sway and the sport pack rear sway? I thought they were both 13mm.

Escay: I really wouldn't spend the labor to replace that rear sway and would wait until/if you ever replace your subframe bushings.

Hi. Yes both are 13 mm. Tischer folks said the non M rear sway has thicker sidewalls within making it stiffer.

Are the springs in the kit for your vehicle model? If not you may have an issue.

Yup the springs are correct. That's why its such a steal

And I live in NZ so nothing is ever cheap here, intl shipping is a PITA.

Great deal. congrats. You will love it. Big difference over stock. I've had mine for a couple of years. Next for me is maybe some m3 bits, subframe bushings, and diff bushings + m3 rear sway. Fun to do upgrades over time as it keep the car feeling new.

Sorry guys, it's was a one off deal. It was a $1 reserve online auction here in New Zealand, I just happened to check as it was closing, put in a couple bids with a surprising result.

It was some supplier who had one last set they just wanted to offload.

Been busy lately, planning to install in the next few weeks, will update. *excited*
