Another guy with another bov problem

So I've done my research and found many people with having their bov not release at points but couldn't find my answer so here it goes. So I have a ER charge pipe with tial q bov. It works great but a little too quite for my taste. Anyway, sometimes when I do WOT in either 2nd,3rd or 4th and rev the rpms high before shifting to the next gear (basically flooring the crap out of it) and the bov doesn't release the pressure. Btw I have manual trans. If I floor it in 3rd, then press on clutch, no bov. Even if I do or don't shift into the next gear, no blow off. The spring is whatever came with. I have a jb4 with catless dp's and exhaust. I think I'm running around 15 or 16psi. Do I need to change the spring or what else can I do to fix this? Thanks! Btw at low rpms th bov works as supposed to.

I would think it shouldn't be normal. If I do wot in 3rd and then let go of the gas pedal to coast... All that pressure is going in the other direction of the turbos which is not good at all, specially with higher boost... This is why I am
Showing my concern.

Is the vacuum line as short and direct as possible going into the bov? If it's not seeing the change in vacuum as you let off to shift it may not fire the bov. I've always liked the HKS super sequential instead as it seems much more responsive.

Cutting the line going into te bov shorter will make it work better? I used the line that came with the tial. And is the hks really high pitch? I wanted something low whoosh sound not really high pitch

I have had all 3 (Tial, Synapse & HKS) and HKS is my favorite....mine is not that high pitched had a whoosh sound and a slight high pitch at the end. I used the purple insert and did not care for it at all. The HKS is very responsive and holds boost great! l

The Tial is the quietest BOV for our cars, while HKS and Synapse are considerably louder.

If you push in the clutch the tune things you are going to shift into the next gear so it tries to retain boost hence the BOV not going doing it's thing. Although when you let out the clutch you should hear the "pssh".

I love your posts.

To the OP, it should blow off if you go WOT and then get off the gas abruptly.

If its not doing that. Do some logs and check your lines for leaks, cracks, disconnects.

Does the car idle smooth? Boost Leak?

If this is really a JB4 thing that is a little weird.

I'm not suggesting that this is the problem in your case, but just as a data point: When i did the intake valve cleaning recently i had the intake manifold removed and while looking it over i noticed that the nipple for the vac line going to the bov was partially blocked by some carbon buildup/dust. Don't think it was causinga problem for me, but it def had some crap in it.... Never would have thought about that until i happened to see it...
