How do I Pause a CD playing on a 335i with Nav.

I would like to pause a CD playing when I get a call. I haven't figure it out yet. I can't believe that the cd changer doesn't have a pause feature. If I mute it the cd keeps running. Any ideas?

This should automatically happen if you bluetooth with an BMW approved phone.

When I press the mute button in my Feb '06 build 330xi, it will pause whether I'm using either the indash or cd changer. Perhaps your car's newer software version introduced this problem.

I am having the same issue. The mute does not stop playback of cd. It just mutes it. I have a Feb 06 325i.

Bluetooth comes standard with Premium, not iDrive.

In my '07 E92 335i the "mute/volume" button actually functions as a "pause" button whenever possible. I.e. when listening to music via 6FL or CD player, pressing the button pauses the music. When listening to live radio or satellite, pressing the button only mutes the audio.

Volume knob = mute/pause in mine as well (Sept./Oct. '06).

A curious question is: if you set one of your programmable buttons to the "Mute" option, does it just mute and let the CD continue playing, or does it pause similar to the volume knob. Not to take the thread off-course, but maybe some people are referring to muting via this method and not the knob itself.

Programming one of the buttons on the steering wheel to "mute" pauses the cd. I use it all the time!
