Got a guy in Tampa who will paint em black for around $300 . Was told powder coating isn't as good if you end up hitting a curb.
Any advice? Ps. I tried to edit the *hear to here on subject line

Paint is easier to repair if something goes wrong, if you want it to be invincible, you want Xylan 1331, it has teflon in it so brake dust and road grime will NEVER STICK TO IT!!
Another option is Xylar 1/201, which is a 2 step process, but has even higher abrasion resistance A lot of places that will do powder coating will do Xylar/Xylan I had my caliper carriers Xylan coated on my E34, and no dirt or brake dust ever stuck to them, and no rocks, salt, or sand ever scratched or removed the coating |

Powder coating is a great option for wheels, but as its been mentioned, it's not the easiest to repair. You can still apply paint to damaged areas but it's not going to be the exact same finish.
I wouldn't let the thought of curb rash deter you from getting wheels powder coated though. Just be careful while parking.
