Zaino?

Guys what are your thoughts on Zaino, I have seen results in person and its really nice, trying to figure on getting a Zaino kit and doing my car myself or getting a pro paint correction job with opti coat? The pro job comes with a 850.00 price tag just trying to figure if all that money is worth it.

The Zaino kit works well - I've been using Zaino on my daily drivers and classics for over a decade. Its been a good product for the money and stands up to FL sun, rain and humidity.

That being said, I am always looking for new products to try

Do you just want to seal, or do you need paint correction as well?

Zaino:
If you have very minor or very light swirls, Zaino Z5 would be able to fill, hide and seal. Z5, ZXF and Z6 will run you $50. In 1 weekend you should be able to get good results that can last 3-6 months and you can keep layering the coats of Zaino to maintain.

If you have swirls or scratches that are more on the medium side or you want to do it right and not just hide the swirls... you are going to need some type of correction plus the Zaino. A DA polisher combo $180, a mild polish like Meguiars 205 or Menzerna SIP another $30, the $50 Zaino products listed above, some practice, elbow grease, a few weekends and you are still coming in under $300.

I use Z5 and Z2 on a perfectly correct clear and like my results. I have a dark color (DG), since Zaino layers the DG gets more depth.

Opti coat:
The quote you got for the Opti coat, did it include paint correction prior to the sealant? If not, expect them to add to that $850. I haven't used this product so can't give you much feedback... other than it looks like it costs about $80 at autogeek. Some reviews on the net state it lasts longer than Zaino and can go up to 12 months before needing more work.

Key things to remember is that both of these products are sealants, so be sure to account for paint correction if needed.

If you enjoy working on your car or want to save some $, I'd say correct and seal it yourself. There are enough DIYs, resources and videos to help you out, and once you invest in the tools, maintenance becomes cheaper. If you don't have the time or desire - I'd say choose the product you think would last longer and pay for the service, but just remember you'll have to revisit and pay again once it wears off.

Good luck - Jo

The 850.00 included paint correction so it seems fair but when I think 1700.00 to do both my cars wow, I might just bust out the zaino and try it myself.

I've been using Zaino for over 10 years and results have been outstanding. My 535 is the first black car I've owned and Z5 works outstanding. I am not too impressed with the Zaino AIO but 2 and 5 I've had good experience with.

I've been using their whole kit for a few years and its really good stuff. AIO is kinda useless IMO, Z5 works really good, ZCS, and their 2 detailing sprays work really good. Also started using their leather care stuff recently and I think its way better then Lexol. Also their car wash liquid is really potent, a little goes a long way to keep the suds going.
