iDrive reboots when Galaxy Note is plugged into USB port

So I had my friend with me today as a passenger and he was attempting to charge his Samsung Galaxy Note II via the usb port connection in the middle console - doing so caused the iDrive computer to reboot every 30 seconds or so displaying the "M splash screen" and causing my settings/preferences to reset upon every 'reboot'

Has anyone experienced this before? For all of you computer programmers, I'm thinking that the signal outputted by the Note/Android OS happens to be a partial boot sequence being interpreted by the iDrive computer. Very strange indeed.

Could be the amount of amperage the GNII wants is contributing.
Looks like it needs a 2A charger. I don't know what the rating is for the USB port in the M5.

Could also check the connector on the GNII side to see if it is dirty and maybe causing issues.

Sorry - don't have one for independent verification.

John, you may be onto something. Thanks for input.

Check the info printed on the original charger for the Samsung Galaxy Note II and look at the output power 5V xAmps. If it requires power similar to the Apple iPAD then it requires, 2.1Amps (most will just say 2Amps). iPhones and other regular smartphones just require 1Amp (1000milliamps). I don't think the usb in the central console was made for hooking up an iPAD/tablet, so my guess it that it only outputs 1Amp.

This is a known issue. iPhone 5 depending on software does this too. I just use bluetooth streaming and functions instead of USB.
