Loose handling...tires maybe?

So I guess the previous owner skimped on tires and bought a set of Diamondback ultraperformance m+s tires all around. They are 225/40/18. My question is, when driving at any speed over 80km/h the car feels really loose (handling-wise). It's not bad if I'm taking a turn or corner, just driving straight where it feels unstable. Drifty as you will, like being blown around with a strong wind.

I was wondering if this is attributed to the tires? I've searched and cannot for the life of me find any reviews on this particular tire. I know they are a discount tire, and I know they are frickin' loud as hell and absolutely suck in the snow!

I would replace the tires for something better, and also would suggest checking your alignment if you haven't done that in a while.

Tires are definitely getting replaced. With the variable assisted steering I would have thought that at higher speeds the steering would stiffen up and at lower speeds lighten up. Currently it's the opposite.
