Another weird noise

Hey guys;
Today on my way to work I heard this noise. It's fairly faint but it sounds like something draining electricity on and off. I tried turning off the AC and the stereo and I still hear it. Any ideas?

Definately NOT me... I was Bartman in college once upon a time...

In any case it sounds like a faint ummm ummmm ummm constant. Almost the same sound as the amp when you turn off the car. In fact it might even be that. Is that possible?

Clarification

Okay today I drove it again and heard the same noise. Best way to describe it is a faint busy signal sound.

Anyone???

eww Hate that answer. I once sold a car because of a noise. Of course it was MUCH louder than this one but one would expect that a car at this price wouldn't have these issues.

LoL, you sound like every customer I had to deal with when I worked BMW service 7 yrs ago. Raging 7 series owners would be like "I paid 70g for this car, it shouldnt have these problems". We were all like, this isnt a Toyota or Honda, but it is the most rewarding drivers car. You shouldnt have expected it to be the tip-top of reliability. Regardless, its funny how often people complain about the price of the car and how things like (insert problem) shouldnt happen. If everyone had done as much research as they say they do, none of this would surprise them.

Even Ferraris have dash cracks that need replacing after a year to the tune of $4k+. Plus has anyone seen the maintenance on those? You dont buy a car like that unless you know what youre getting into. Not saying the BMW and Ferrai are comparable, but hey, do some research. BMW has never topped any reliability surveys.

Don't know how much more research I could have done. I've been driving 3-series BMW's for 15 years. I'm not trying to say that I spent $X and therefore it shouldn't have this issue. I'm saying it's a new car (don't care what type or how much you spend) and it should be an issue that can be fixed. Don't get me wrong. I'm not really upset about it. It's the kind of thing that I'll mention the next time I go to the dealership and see what they can do. I'm far from upset. However the "turn up your radio" answer does get to me. I think you should be able to fix any noise and I was just fishing here to see if anyone else has had this or might know what it is. I am far from the I should get the world because I bought your car" kind of guy.

Might be but its not the sound of the Nav searching the CD if that's what you mean.

I get what youre saying and I agree that that response isnt a correcting or even intuitive one. Hope you get to the bottom of it and come back to tell us what it was so we know for future reference.
