Brake work warning gone !

Hello friends,
Last month my car's rear brake sensors generated the brake pads(rotors) replacement warning.
My SA told me I cant get it replaced in next few thousand miles.
But after driving for around 1200 miles, today the warning message is gone.
Not sure whats wrong (or right). Its been raining today and when I left my office, I noticed there was no warning, even after couple of restarts.
Any idea whats going on. The car is 328i 'vert with around 65k miles.
Thanks in advance.

The brake sensor is two wires connected by a thin metal wire molded in a carbon plastic fitted into your brake pad at the wear point.

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-335...Pads/ES260293/

When the brake pad wears down the thin wire is worn away opening circuit giving you a warning light. I have seen these brake pad sensor wear down to the bare wires which can make contact with metal completing the warning circuit removing the light.

Keep putting miles on that car and you destroy your rotors to the point where they can't be turned $$$$$$$!

Thanks for the info man.
I still got 3-4mm left on the pads. Just didnt get the time to get it done.
Both rotors n pads are due, so im not worried about rotors going bad.
Hopefully ll get it done in few weeks.

The pads and rotors usually always need to be changed together, especially the fronts.

They are soft rotors are wear at the same time as the pads.

Thanks man.

I think for a new car, first pads go without replacing rotors.
anyway, mine is 65k, so rotors will surely go.

Rotors on the 328i are pretty inexpensive anyway, BMW used a generic rotor, the pad doesn't even completely sweep the rotor from what I seen.

Dont go with drilled rotors, just get blanks or slotted, but for street use blanks are your best bet. And yes that sensor isnt completely fault proof. my pads were gone to the point of the rotors meeting the metal baking plates of the pads and the brake light never went off.

all these diff rotors are too many to look into.
I think I will stick with OEM pads/rotors.

Can't go wrong with OEM pads/rotors as long as you don't mind the dust

lol, no one likes the dust.
But I got gun metal wheels and cleaning them once or twice a week works good for me.
However, I searched a lot on this forum. The more I look for alternate options the more I get confused. Everyone has got pros n cons on aftermarket rotors/pads. So I decided to stick with OEM ones.
I dont have place and time to do it myself. I got $900 quote from a reputable shop for 328i all 4 rotors/pads and 2 sensors replacement.
BMW dealership charges $1200. So stills deciding which way to go.

Likewise... my rear pads and rotors were completely worn down and never saw a light.
