Xenon head lamps for F30 316i

Hi guys
I am going to get a new 316i
The issue is it does not come with the xenon head lamps and when i asked the sales agent if i can install the OEM xenon head lamps with the angel eyes he said it can't be done coz of differences in electricity setting
I am not fully satisfied with his answer and i saw that they come as an option for the 316i in the catalogue
So the question is :
is what he said true or he was just avoiding the headache and i shall insist on installing them?

You're looking at $4000 USD just in parts and labor for Xenons. Plus no one has figured out how to re-code the car for Xenons. So, he's pretty much telling you the truth.

Thanks sam
As for price i know its expensive but it looks so much better
I am not aware of complication behind the installation but BMW has an assembly line here and i thought they can figure it out
Plus as i mentioned its in the options list so it can be done

Any way thank you again for the response and i will try to look more into the issue

hey, there is a bunch of us thinking the same thing.
it most definitely is possible, just no-one has the balls, or the skills to make it happen.

Im trying to get an incentive for someone to try it and write a DIY:

The main issue is this:

If the car doesn't come from the factory with xenons, then it's pretty much impossible to get them done (or at the very least very very expensive, so much so you'll probably be better off just getting a 328/335 or whatever is offered in your country with xenons)

However, if the options list FOR THAT SPECIFIC MODEL lists xenons as an option, then your dealer should not be giving you any shit about how it's not possible. I would call another dealership in your area, or maybe BMW central for your country to inquire further. It may be that he doesn't have a car in stock with xenons, and is really trying to push you into buying an available one.
