On my Japanese car, someone scraped it when I parked in an apt. complex. The dent was so miniscule you have to look for it, but it did crack the paint in an area the size of a dime, and there were red streaks. I used cleaner/polish and it was almost as good as new. Since you don't want a body shop or dealer, maybe it will work on your car, it really depends on how bad it is. The cleaner/wax removes scratches you wouldn't think would come out....good luck.

Fixing scratches can be preety easy. If they are small you can usually hide them with rubbing compound.
You can sand off the scrape a little and fill in the space with the rubbing compound. Then rewax/polish and you should be good. You do need an electric buffer though. Get the 3M Perfect Fine compound there are different stregnth levels.

if the paint is gone, youll have to get the bumper resprayed, thats your only choice. That chit aint gonna buff out. You could use touch up paint, but its not gonna be perfect. why dont you want the dealer to find out? what difference could it possibly make? btw are you sure the paint has chipped, and its not just a scuff? |

I don't understand what the problem is.
Take the car to get estimates at a few bodyshops and get it fixed. It will be in the $400-500 range. Why would the dealer find out? By the way, the dealer is not always the best for all work on you car. I avoid the dealership for tires, windshields and body work. A helpful hint. Find out which bodyshops attract most of the higher end vehicles and go to them for estimates.

It's tough to tell you without pictures, he was only partially joking. MAybe by looking we would see that it was actualy a paint transfer of dark paint, so claying would work. Maybe we can see it needs actual paint. Maybe from the size we can tell you if a touch-up job would get you by on the lease.
