MFest Caravan

5/23 Thurs -For those of us up north (Fort Collins/Loveland/Longmont), we can meet up along the way if we want off I-25 but we should make it quick, as to make it to the meeting point on time. Meet west side of Denver between 6-630am, I-70 Morrison Exit #259. (see steps below to find) There is a Conoco gas station there we can all get topped off if needed and get some early morning snacks. Be at the gas station at no later then 630am so we can all gather and meet each other incase we haven’t yet and that way we can get off on the road close to 645. Its a right once off the interstate then a left at the light that is about 1/8 mile up...go down about 1/4 mile or so and you will see the gas station on the right/HUGE park n ride lot on the left.

5/23 This year we should have between 5-10 cars from the Midwest meeting us at the gas station to caravan out with us.

1030-11am Stop in Grand Junction for Lunch/Gas, meet up with Jim and whoever else in that area is joining him.

---- Horizon Drive exit, Turn right and immediate left into the Shell station. Take up pump as you can and the rest form line and then park in back of the shell, or go across the street to Wendys for lunch.

1130-12p Leave GJ and head along the way...wont need gas until Beaver Utah (15 miles south of the I-70/I-15 juncture), and meet up with any Utah or whoever else Mfester's from that area. (arrive around 230-3pm) to Beaver (large gas station at first exit and on the right, next to Wendy's)

3-330pm Arrive/Leave Beaver for Vegas, meet up with PNW caravan. Large gas station at first exit and on the right, next to Wendy's.

5-530pm PACIFIC time, Arrive in Vegas (its about 3 or so hours from Beaver)

6pm Check into the Palms and grab dinner.

5/23 Thursday night we usually all go out to dinner then head our separate ways. Thursday night is pretty low key because we have to be up early to meet the caravan from Southern CA.

5/24 Leave Palazzo early like 8am and head to meet up with the local Mfesters at the M resort and then head to jean around 8:40 or so, arrive Jean at 9 meet up with the Socal caravan.

5/24 After Jean registration opens up at the Palms and after registration there is time to relax by the pool, gamble or do anything. Friday night the drag strip opens up and we all roll out around 7pm. The drag usually ends around midnight.

5/24 Friday night there is usually a club event but its much smaller and not organized for everybody.

5/25 Saturday holds all the activities. If you registered for the track you should get out there around 8:30-9am. Cars & Coffee is also another activity you can go to. The car show does not start until around 11am. Once the car show, track racing and raffle is underway the event usually lasts until 4pm.

5/25 After Saturdays events are done you usually have time to go back rest and clean up for the club event. Since its at the Palms the club might change. Usually each time we have the club to our selves with an open bar until 11:30pm then it opens to everyone. (My opinion is to get a group and buy bottle service so once the club opens to everyone you have a place to seat).

5/26 Sunday morning is pretty brutal for most. Usually MFest has a pool party organized for everyone but its pretty laid back. The Colorado crew usually splits up on Sunday, some driving back and others staying.

Please remember all times are tentative for arrival/departure locations. Time has been added to account for large number of participants/cars. As a caravan, if one person from a car needs to stop at a rest stop to take a pit stop, the whole caravan should stop as well as a courtesy.

If you haven't gone, and don't mind the stag party atmosphere, this is an event that's definitely worth it if for nothing else then seeing all the M3s (and other Bimmers) in the garage together. It's just wow!

If you're into tracking, and they have a track day at LVMS, I can say the track itself is pretty fun. Flat, but long, with some very challenging corners. However, I wouldn't recommend it for any first-time trackers. The event (at least in 2011) was pretty loosely run, with no in-car instruction available, so it's definitely not ideal.

I'm not sure I will go, but if I do, I'll be skipping the track and going to the cars & coffee on Saturday morning instead.

FWIW...YMMV....

We have sponsored MFEST last two years and I personally have gone the last 4 years. Each year it gets bigger and bigger. Its pretty cool to cruise on the HWY with 400+ bmw cars all in a row.

Last year I attended all the events but the track was so hot we ended up packing our booth up a little early and going back to the pool

I am not sure if I am going to go this year or not just need to figure out schedule wise if I can make it. But for those of you who have never gone before and are thinking about it, def do it at least once so you can check it out.

Yes, GOLFFRR reminds me of another reason to go: Many of the major vendors all in one place, so you can hear exhausts, check out wheels, custom mods, etc. It can be a shopping trip.

I'm glad it's being held in May opposed to April. I'm not down for driving I-70 in the snow. I went in 2011 and it is a really well organized event. Stephen, is it being held at the Palazzo again?

Man, the timing for this never seems to work out for me. I'll be in Austin that weekend watching the V8 Super Cars from Australia. And doing recon for the BMW CCA race there in June...

Haha no, I have been here awhile, but I hope it will be better then have truck chains thrown at our car in a couple of inches of snow, watching Sid slide from lane to lane in 2011.

I will be more inclined to go since it is later in the year...I don't know if I will be able to go just yet. Still need to schedule some travel for work around that same time frame.

I will see if I can make it. I'll most likely be out there in April for work and our little boy is due in mid Feb. I've yet to make it to an MFest, so no guarantees this year. I'll try though

Ive gone 3 years in a row now and I have to say, my favorite part is the drive out there. There are some great roads between here and Vegas. That being said, I am probably going to skip it this year. My girl and I are planing a trip to New York instead. But, you never know...
