The polishes - Z2Pro, Z5Pro and ZCS - are all what you would call "waxes". They are polymer sealants and are applied the same way as you would a carnauba wax i.e. the last step product.

Don't forget the Z6/8 as your "final" step. These are the show toppers. Using these is when I really put the elbow grease into the car, to give it the final shine.

You would apply Z8 last but I believe it's only compatible with the Zaino polishes. In other words, if you used a carnauba based wax, Z8 won't work that well.

Its good stuff. It is a detail spray, works perfect for getting water spots out for the sections that dry before you can dry them after washing.
Supposed to be a little better/wetter looking that Z6, but Z6 is so damn good, that not sure if you can tell the difference between Z6 & Z8

Dont put carnuba over the top of Zaino. It will mess up the bonding of any other Zaino products you use.

If you just use Zaino products you'll have no problems. In 9 months I've had to Zaino my car with Z5 and Z2 only a couple times. In between all I use is Zaino car wash, Z6 spray and Z8 when there is extended periods of nice weather. I love how it keeps all the plastic and rubber looking brand new. No residue or fading from waxs etc. Love the stuff, I'm doing my sister in law's black 350Z this weekend for her if the weather clears up.

Your statement is true, however. Zaino is a chemical that bonds to itself. Anything not compatible with that chemical bonding and in between either the previous layer of Zaino or the clean clearcoat will prohibit the Z bonding and it won't last long. Additionally, the new Zaino CS CAN be applied to anything - even freshly applied (but cured) carnauba.

+1 on what sesegal said. I wash mine weekly with Z7 and use Z8 after completely drying. I love Z8 and in my opinion looks so much better than Z6.

If you apply Zaino, carnauba, then more Zaino shortly after; then yes, the top coat of Zaino won't bond correctly. But most people (myself included), apply carnauba ontop for a little extra luster. Gives that deep wet look that Zaino seems to miss. As long as you're not putting on the Zaino every other weekend, the carnauba will be long gone before it's time to reapply the Zaino.

In NJ been raining here since sunday...my car was filthy with road dirt etc...Just detailed mine tonight, if I can really call it that....took about an hour total. Washed with filtered water and Z7 car wash....microfiber only. Rinsed with filtered water. Dried lightly with a soft towel. Went around with Z6 and a microfiber...spray a little on microfiber towel and wipe. Wiped down rims, dressed tires, vacumed inside and in trunk, wiped down inside with interior quick detail wipes. Done... I'll post some photos...I'm sure you get the idea....

It's usually pretty tough to get Alpine White to sizzle like THAT but you've done it my friend! Nice work.
I work Z6 and Z8 the same way i.e. applied to the MF towel and then massaged into the paint. I also fold my mirrors while parked in the garage too!!!

Z8 smells a lot better than Z6 too!
I'm getting to the point where I don't even wash my bike any more, just spray with Z6 or 8, wipe GENTLY to pread it around, then buff witht he other side of MF towel. |
