Socal track day?

Have seen quite a few members on here from socal finally taking delivery of their cars.

Are you socal guys down to have a track day and roll together? Havent seen anything on the la cca chapter website and am itching to go. Your funflats will be safe to use and will not die after one track day. Helmets will be available for rental. There are plenty of groups we can go with. Streets of willow is a great short track to start off with if you have no exp and is cheap. Was awesome last time.

Any takers? We can see which date is the best for all of us and coordinate.

Sent from my phone using the app (regional forums dont work on this app - mods will this ever be fixed?! Please do not move thread. No one checks there. Thanks. )

Oh, and where is OUR autox track driving technique thread???!!!!

I suggest you contact SpeedVentures and ask them to set aside a run group at one of their events. That will be cheaper and will obviate the need for insurance... Oh and I will volunteer to instruct if that works for SV

Would they do that? Set aside a run group if we had x amount of ppl in our group? We went with extreme speed (?) last time and it was by experience. And there was more traffic that day than on the 405.

I will inquire. I would want to get a head count first ideally.

Rust, not a problem. Limp mode?! Oh no.

There are events all the time let me know when the best time is for your hectic schedule. As mentioned below perhaps feb 9th gives us all plenty of time to mark our calendars.

There is an event with speed ventures at streets of willow on feb 9th/10th $110-$130 for beginner / early registration plus $10 gate fee on entry.

There is big willow on jan 12th and button willow on jan 26th/27th. ($150)

Do you guys prefer one over another? I think feb 9th gives us plenty of time to set our schedules and its a smaller course than big willow but looks more technical. Its also closer than buttonwillow.

Ill email them on how we can possibly get a run group for us tomorrow.

Ill prob end up going regardless but want to enjoy it with fellow forum members!! There was an frs/brz challenge last time we went and there were about 20 of them. Pretty cool to see.

I just signed up with extremespeed for Jan 19th SOW. Anyone can join there are only about 30 spots left. McKenna will be there and will caravan from their 'ship.

I will be rolling with whoever is local.

Moco not enough interest on here to have our own group. can you make it?

Never done it before, but I'm game for the willow springs run depending on what time of the day it is. I think the big willow date is too close, and button willow is probably farther than most will travel.

you just bring them with you. it will probably be really windy as always out in the middle of nowhere. some ppl really set up shop over there with chairs, cabanas, hammmocks, the whole sha-bang. if you were to bring spectators make sure they wont be just standing out in the wind all day!

there is a $10 entry fee at the track. but i dont knw about those that are just coming along as Ive only driven to events by myself.

Just wanted to add that I was there on the 29th with ExtremeSpeed, and it was awesome. My first time but had wanted to do it for a long long time and I definitely wasn't disappointed...would highly recommend. You definitely get your money's worth! I ended up turning the 3rd fastest time in the beginner's class...the car is so great on the track!

you should come out on the 19th too. I went last month and it was too crowded in the beginner class - top 7 got bumped up to intermediate. So I just signed up for intermediate this time.

That follow the leader lap is a waste of money lol

What helmet did you get and from where?

I definitely want to get a GoPro and helmet before I go to an event. Just got my car back from the dealer today!
