Load Area Cover
I've just read that the load are cover on a F31 should have "comfort opening" meaning that when you open the rear window or tailgate, the load area cover is automatically raised.
I dont seem to have this function, does anyone else? |

I thought the same thing. Having had a F11 in the past which does have this feature I was pleased to read in the brochure that the F31 has it too but no, it seems our F31 doesn't have this very handy feature.
We should complain, although I'm sure the brochure has a disclaimer somewhere about the spec being subject to change. |

Also do you have the interior comfort pack? On the website it states:
Extended storage with nets on the front seatbacks, two 12V sockets, storage net on the left side of the luggage compartment and additional net e.g. for the luggage compartment floor. I don't have this additional net for the luggage compartment floor! |

Same here, mine doesn't flip up when the rear window is opened. On the E91 the cover would flip up when the window was opened but not when the boot door was opened. Shame it's a nice little feature.

On the F31 we seem to have neither. |

Correct, it was all manual on the E91. Just looking at my owner's handbook on page 140 it clearly says it should rise when the window or boot is opened.

Mine is manual too, but only takes a light tap to go right up to the top setting for access into the boot with the glass raised, so not too hard to do once you know where to tap it!

Having been used to the F11 before which went up and down electronically, I've found a few times now I've left the cover 'up' which means when I drive off I can't see a thing out of the back window!
Shame the brochure is inaccurate. |

This is such a backward step!
Out E61 is auto-pop up, manual down. Same for my Dad's e91. New F11s are auto-up down...

And it's not just the brochure that's inaccurate, the same functionality is detailed in the owner's guide.
Spent a good 15 minutes trying to figure out how it worked before assuming it isn't actually available on the car :-( Also driven off a few times with the cover open (and therefore no rear visibility) ;-) |

oh well i think BMW has been misleading customer worldwide on the F31 brochure as AU brochure clearly states that it is a standard feature for automatically lifting up when opening the back window/tailgate. I got mine delivered last week and only manually opened, annoying...
