Bought a set of 162s from another member, TPMs or FTM?
Last night I bought a used set of 162s to replace the stock wheels on my 2007 335 (I sold them long ago, now putting it back to stock). My car is equipped with the TPM system. Seller said wheels have TPMs but I just noticed they have rubber valve stems. Haven't put the wheels on yet, but if the wheels have FTMs and the car has TPM system, will it cause an error? Thanks.
PS - seller said they came off his 2007 335, so I would have assumed that was equipped with TPMs as well. Are rubber valve stems always an indicator of FTM? |

Oh I see, FTM was a vehicle system, not a tire system. So if the car has TPMs, and the wheels now have nothing, that means I have no warning system at all?

Yes just like what e90LCI said. Ive been running driving without tpms for a good year and a half. The error light doesnt really bother me and I check my tire pressure from time to time. I guess for some it's just for peace of mind.
