Hate having front license plate

when i picked up my E90, the car already had dealer installed front plates. I really want to take these off but don't want to have 2 visible holes on my bumper. Has anyone had any good solutions to take off front plates w/o it looking bad?? Is the bumper plugs the only solution?

there's a guy in the bay area that had a mobile detailer patch up the holes for him and paint. when i saw it, couldn't even tell there were holes there before.
