Benefits of doing 3M treatment on headlights only?

I've noticed on my current car the headlight plastic seems to get a lot more beaten up by road debris than the hood/fenders. I'd rather put the 3M treatment $$$ towards a nice tint job instead. I think I could tackle a film treatment on the headlights myself but not the rest. I just don't think it's worth the $$$ for a full treatment. Anybody here just do the headlights themselves or should I just say screw it and leave it all alone? I'll have the car for at least 6 or so years.

I am thinking about just doing the headlights and foglights as well. You can purchase the Xpel kit for pretty cheap, I think $60 bucks. The website shows some pretty detailed videos demonstrating installation techniques. I wonder how much an Xpel dealer would charge just for headlight and foglight installation.

I dont like seing a clear bra on the car - i think it looks like crap personally.

with the headlight protection its awesome because it will save your light so much. XPEL is awesome stuff and you can get it from NAmotorsports. its easy to install yourself.

mds82, did you install yourself? i got a few quotes for the clear film on the headlights and foglights. Somewhere around $120 bucks.

Do you think I am better off installing myself? Is it difficult? I am just doing headlights and foglights.
