Come to think of it, long may have some extra brackets or you can bend some and drill yourself.

I had done this for awhile, and it's a pain in the behind.

That stuff sticks so well that it ended up bending the front bumper and cracking the paint. I wouldn't recommend that if you plan on removing and replacing the plate very often.

I had Long paint one of the black holders body color to match. Looks pretty good. Got a matching plate frame from Bimmian too. I think there's a pic in my garage.

Edit: No pic of front plate holder but frame is on the rear pic.

The factory mount

If you use the factory mount there are two tabs on the bottom that align with the slots in the bumper. You simply push the mount up tight, then use two self tapping screws to secure the bracket into your bumper. Try not to cry when you're ruining the front bumper on your car.

I like the first reply... thats a good alternate solution.

This works really well and is sturdy enough to leave on full time or easy to remove after the fixit ticket is signed off. There are no changes to the vehicle since it mounts to the tow hook receptacle.

The kit was from the GoMiniGo web page:
http://www.gominigo.com/18545.html
These kits are $50 but all the hardware is stainless steel and excellent quality. For me it was well worth the price to not have to drill the bumper cover or put that awful plastic part BMW supplies that was designed to fit the larger Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) plates.
The kit that fits the E9x models is the same kit they make for the 5 series but it fits a lot closer to the bumper cover which is just they way I wanted it to be anyway.

Do you keep this on full time? Do you have any problems with dirt or anything else getting in the opening for the tow hook? Did you measure for the bracket using gominigo.com's guide? Just wondering what your measurement was because I like your result using the 5 series bracket. It seems to sit pretty close to the bumper. I've read elsewhere that the 3 series/Z3 bracket fits the E92/E93. Confused! TIA.
