Washing

I have a jet Black E92 and I've realized that it's really hard to wash without getting any scratches on it. I've washed it a couple of times using a hose, sponge and quality wax/shampoo products. I also waxed it ones, this also seemed to leave scratches. I'm not talking about any big scratches, but they stand out a bit in direct sunlight. Is it impossible to avoid these kind of scratches or am I doing something wrong? I have also washing it with high-pressure water (with shampoo), but it does not get clean enough then.

Invest in some Zaino products and microfiber towels. Search around to find some tutorials on what exactly to do.

The best thing you can do is learn about the proper washing and drying tools and techniques. This is where a majority of swirls and imperfections come from. You should not experience adding swirls during any other step assuming the paint is properly prepped (meaning no contamination) and your applicator pad is not dirty or contaminated. Also using quality towels for removal will minimize swirls and imperfections.

To start learning more about the proper ways to detail I'd suggest reading our How-To section and browsing some posts on Detail University.

sounds like you've got yourself some swirl marks there. You need to use a quality polish and then top it with some wax to get them off there. Wax alone won't do the trick, especially on a black car. I really like Mirror Glaze Swirl remover. It's a bitch to use, but it really does a great job, I've used it on all my black cars in the past, and then top it off with some zaino or whatever wax you like.

Don't forget a sheepskin wash mit. Only thing that touches my car when washing.

Thanks for all your comments! Have been reading and learning a lot about washing and waxing, realized that I didn't know anything...

So I looked at the Zaino products and found a place where they are selling a start package containing the following: Z-5 wax, Z-6 gloss enhancer, Z-7 detergent, Z-18 ClayBar, ZFX drying accelerator and one waxing pillow. They recommended 100% cotton towels for the waxing, I would also need the sheepskin wash mitt and a waffle drying towel as you mentioned (have not found a shop in Finland that sells these mitts and towels).

Is this the answer to my swirl problems? Or do I need some Z-2 or Z-3 wax on top (which one by the way for non-metallic black)?

only use a sponge(zymol) and p21s body shampoo!!!! it is gentile and bomb!!!! make sure the sponge stays clean and use a grit guarded bucket!!!! and don't forget a wax never just drive a car from a dealer all around when all they do is use a spray wax!!!! you need a professional or good old elbow grease wax with preferably more white carnuba than yellow!!!
