Help! Need to buy a Waterpump and thermostat in GTA
My waterpump gave up on me last night.
I want to buy one local if possible ($400 USD + shipping etc. is my alternative) and get it installed by Ivo @ Columbus. Any ideas? I can't remember the name of the guy at a local GTA BMW shop who provides great pricing. Please help. Thx. |

Hey,
I just did my pump a few months ago. I decided to go with BMW which I never do but they have this weird ass deal. If you want to purchase the pump from them they will charge you high $700, but if tell them to install they will charge you low $700 parts and labour (no thermostat) |

Local dealer quoted over $1200 for parts and labour for the pump alone. Over $600 more to do the thermo |

I got my thermostat and water pump done on my 328 for $1300 at the dealer. Most shops were quoting me close to that (like ~200$ less), not worth it cuz my car was already towed to the dealer and towing would cost me another ~$80 to the shop loll

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
I also found decent pricing (cdn) at bimmerspecialist.ca (save $140 after shipping) but I'd have to wait. Looks like I can get both (pump/thermo) done locally for around $1300. Glad it happened close to home and not 300km north where I happened to be on Monday... By the way - Southwood Rd FTW: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/ontario_bikeroads.jpg |

I just made a reply to another page on the Canada forum section.. But this happened to me over the summer. Let's just say I get a discount and it is still cheaper to let BMW dealerships just do the whole thing.
They have low cost packages on common issues such as water pump... Brakes and rotors.. Etc. I fixed mine by buying parts and getting a friend to fix it... And the difference in price with what was on the wall of town and country BMW was minimal |
