How to maintain the paint!!!!

I have a 2011 335i coupe and i am from Los Angeles, CA. So all the car goes through is HEAT and the COLD. So my concern is besides hand washing the car, drying it like its a billion dollar diamond which its not....how should i maintain the paint, coat, and shine.

I know i have to clay and polish stuff like that but i want to know the steps before i do it. Im not a newbie, i just need to know which products i need to use and how to use them properly. I have a few chip marks on the front bumper from vegas trips which i need to fix as well. Let me hear my beamer brothers and sisters!!!

If you wash it properly, you're doing much better than 90% of people in the world.

Look up what the two bucket method is.

It's basically have one soapy bucket and one water bucket to rinse your wash media in. Don't use crappy media. Use proper sponges/mitts/microfiber and drying towels.

After first reading the thread "Detailing 101: Common Question and Answers, What and Where to buy stuff + Technique" that's stickied at the top of the forum so it's easy to find, read the Detailing Guide by forum sponsor Detailed Image. That should give you a solid foundation and some recommended products.
