Doesn't seem to be a big difference so far.

The front intake is definitely larger.
Side Skirts look the same
Rear bumper looks the same.

i'm not impressed so far.

The only difference (from the spyshots) are the positionin of the fog lights. They are closer to the centre grill.

SideSkirts are different, they have a more pronounced edge ( bit hard to see in those pics)

Front has bigger "mouth"
Foglights will be round ( they are on parts system already)

Rear bumper will be different in lower centre section ( just like the E46 M pack was )

BMW didn't change very much on the E60 kit either, but it really improved the look of the car IMO. I have expectations this will do the same. There should be a few interior diffferences as well.

JBOO, what sort of interior differences do you think there may be?

On the E60, in addition to the exterior changes, there is a different suspension, steering wheel, seats, door sills, dead pedal, headliner and dash trim. Keep in mind that so far the E60 kit is not available in the US, so it may be awhile before you see ever see this one.

I wonder if they're going to save this M sport package in the US for the end of the E90's lifecycle like they did with the E46.

Good question. Anyone know if they had the m-teck aero kit for the E46 developed this early on in the life of the E46? Maybe that'll give us a clue if they will be selling cars with these from the factory, or if they'll hold off on including it with cars (in the US) until later in the lifecycle.

Early E46 here did have a "sport bumper" it came with the sport pack, only later did the M sport pack come, and was only available through Individual, untill the last few years of production when the M sport pack became the normal sport pack

So tho summarize the E46 had 3 types of bumpers, 2 beign available from right near the beginning

Here's some more info on the sport package aero kit:
_________________________________________________
-- The new BMW 3 Series E90 sports kit will become available shortly after it is shown at either Paris or Frankfurt later this year.

--
Following E46 sport tradition, the window trim will come only in black and not silver color.

-- The front bumper will only slightly change from the current E90 3 Series. The central vent will retain a similar shape but will be larger and deeper than the stock version.

--
Side vents are also larger with a small lip on either side under the vents with the side skirt being more sculpted.

-- The rear bumper will sport one dual exhaust. A small spoiler like that on the 5 Series Sport will also appear on the trunk.

-- A lower suspension with a firmer ride will come standard as will 18 inch wheels.

-- Prices are expected to be $3000 - $4000 more than the base equivalent model with no sport kit.

-- The sport kit will be available for both the sedan and touring, with a sport version eventually appearing on the 3 Series coupe as well.

I actually prefer the window trim to be in chrome rather than black. It makes it classy yet sporty.

So I'm confused by all this: the sport package is already available on the E90 330i and 325i (at least in NA), and it doesn't involve a different bumper or things like that. Are people referring to an "M-package" or something like that that is distinct from the sport package currently being offered on the E90?

Questions:

Will the kit be available for both the 325i and the 330i? If so, will it be more expensive for the 325i since it doesn't come with 18" wheels?

Will it be available in the US?

Does it replace the Sport Package or Does it require that you have the Sport Package?

Do you need to order the kit when you order the car or can it be retro-fit?

I wouldn't be surprised if the new sports kit isn't available in the US till late 2006, when the coupes and convertibles are available. It just seems too soon. Even the E60 M kit isn't out in the US yet and its been in Europe for a while. Just speculation of course.

My thought is that yes it'll be available for both 325 and 330, can't see why not. Nobody knows pricing yet though. Dunno about your second question, but you'll be able to order this and retro-fit it. It's just another OEM part(s) so just have to know the part # and order from any BMW parts department.

OKay guys maybe I can clear it up, in markets other than the U.S. like japan, you can get an M-sport package, which usually means rims tires and different spolier and some other key M features......follow me so far....BMW NA does not want to sell you this package because they are afraid it will kill their M-car sales.....so they only offer the regular Factory sport package...for the 2006 330i it includes 18 inch wheel, sport steering wheel, sports suspension, seats, no leather....you don't have to order leather witht the 330 or 325 to get the sport packge......for the 325 you get all the same things excpet you will get 17 inch wheels, and u have to order power seats if u want power seats.....trust me...
