More fuel pumps released?
Don't want to get hopes up for anyone waiting for a 335 fuel pump, but my SA just called and said that a whole boatload of HPFPs had just been released nationwide and he should have one and get me back in my car by week's end!
Not sure if this is true - I'm just passing on what one dealer SA has told me in my little part of America. Take it for what its worth. Anybody else hear this? imaginos. |

My SA yesterday told me that a large quantity of new FPs is on the way here to the States. There's a possibility of recall next year if enough pumps are available, and most likely it will be. That's the latest from my neck of the woods.

What The....
Yup got my fuel pump in today! But however it is carrying the same part number...1353-7537320. I put my eyes on it myself today. I have heard somewhere on this forum that the supposedly "New and Improved Fuel Pumps" are coming with the same part number. Can anyone concur with this?

I believe this to be true - I just took my in last Thursday and have just this minute got a call to come up pick it up with the new fuel pump installed.
They had several new FP's arrive this week apparantly. I was getting ready for weeks of waiting; feel the pain of those that were out of running for a couple of months, sorry guys. |

They all don't know what they're talking about. I talked to a rep supervisor and she claimed that the revised fuel pump has the same part number as the old ones

As of this moment there are only 42 outstanding backorders for the 335 HPP, down from where the situation peaked at several hundred backorders. The part number is the same. Thats no real cause for concern, as the probability of another failure is very small. It also does not necessarily mean that the replacement pumps were manufactured the same and are the the exact same design as the original pumps. They are working on additional shipments to keep on top of the demand. Good news... |

Just got the call!
SA called today, pump came in late yesterday, placed in car today and tested. I can pick it up anytime. Supposedly the pump is the redesigned one but has the same part number. I'm hopeful this one will last, but still, my confidence now is a bit shaky.
Wait was a week and half. Seeing as others are recently reporting much shorter wait times than the 30+ days others have reported earlier, perhaps supply is getting better. See you in the fast lane, imaginos... |
