winter tires

i have a 335 with 18's i have no idea about bmw. can someone please tell me if 17" rims will fit on the 335 without the calipers rubbing? Anyone know, is this a no brainer?

Yes, because there are OEM 17" wheel options.

I was told by TireRack that some 17s will fit and some won't, so just be cautious when making a purchase...

Sorry, this is incorrect. BMW p/n 36-11-2-298-928 is an official minus one sized winter wheel tire package for any F30 with 18" wheels, including N20 and N55 equipped cars with 18" wheels.

OK as long as you're sure Just wanted to point out it might not be as simple as that with the larger brakes on the 335i

Standard wheels on the 335i are 17".

And lokoing at realOEM.com, it seems like the F30 335i has smaller brakes (340x30mm) in the front than the e90 335i (348x30mm).

Please don't flame me for this but are all five lug wheels the same size? Ive seen bentley rims on vw's Infiniti rims on nissan, but will infiniti rims fit on my bmw? Before i go through the trouble i wanted to find out from the experts!

No, not the same size, BMW's bolt pattern is 5x120.
