I am BSM and went 5% all around because I had 15% all around on my last car and wanted darker because I never had problems with cops. I would never go lighter than 20% but its all preference.
I'll attach two pics I had right after I got my tint done. Since then I've done black lower grilles and an aero lip and I like how the dark tints pulls it all together without having the "murdered" look. |

I have 25% all around, but I have black interior so it looks a bit darker. Honestly I would go 20% (or maybe even 15%) but 25% is the legal limit here and cops are not very forgiving in my area.

I would just go with the legal limit. It's 35 here and that's honestly enough. It'll just be a bigger ticket if you get pulled over for speeding and the officer notices that it's too dark. (they work them quotas!) Is going darker really worth the legal trouble? If you say it is, go for it.

I would say here in Canada its a bit risky to do less that 20%. I've had friends do less and they get harassed by cops (not often but occasionally) |

It matters where you are and how lazy the cops are...... I have had 5% for about 5-6 years with only 1 ticket....

I have a monaco blue e90 with saddle brown and my tint is 27%, the legal limit in SC. I think it looks still too light to me, but the cops around here are total d**ks so there was no other option. Its so bad that I've seen 3 cars get searched because they had 5% tint
