Blackout w/ LUX?

I thought of this the other day, and think it might look epic. Anyone ever gone the blackout route but skipped the beaded angel eyes and used a PNP system like LUX?

I know it sounds a bit strange to open up the headlight and skip going all out with the rings. But this sounds like a unique look to me while not seeming like such an aftermarket look with the beaded rings. If anyone has this I'd love to see pics.

I'm planning to do an angel eye upgrade but have yet to really see anything that goes perfect with space gray and I think this could be it. I would love to get the ACM blackout with blacked out ring, but something tells me that I won't like the beaded look a few years from now.

I actually just did this. I bought euro style headlights to do an LED conversion and got it blacked out at the same time. Unfortunately the rings were not to my satisfaction, so I switched back to the stock ring and just used my existing BMS LED bulbs. I think the stock ring looks much better than the beaded LED ring.

I'm hoping to find a brighter PNP solution, but I'm not sure what the best is for E90.

i did with my LCI halogens... but i don't think i'm happy with the level of blackout that i went with... i will probably pry them apart again and try something else.

damn you opened the headlight just to take out the LED ring?
and which led upgrade did you choose?

I did not keep the LED rings. And yes, you have to open the headlight to do this, or to black them out. A lot of people do it.

nooo i meant you re-opened them a 2nd time to take the rings out. may have been easier to sell your upgraded set as a whole and then get new housings. but then again you have the euro housings so maybe not

Well I didn't open them, so I don't know if it makes a difference, but I would think that once it's been done the first time, the risky part is over with. And there's no way I could have sold them to cover the costs and get another set.

Nope, not enough time, I was in Paris for two weeks, just got back last week. Hoping to get them done soon though.
