Adaptive Headlight Malfunction.
The other day I started my car and the adaptive headlight malfunction popped on. I inspected the headlights and noticed moisture in the headlight housing on the passenger side. I popped the hood and noticed the little cap had fallen off. So I placed it back on and left my car out in the sun to dry out the moisture. This was 3 days ago. The headlights do turn on but the passenger side will not auto level it is stuck in the "down position." I have done research but on this site it is open ended with nobody that really fixed the problem. I am aware of the things that could of gone wrong. faulty SMC II unit, faulty stepper motors, or a problem with the frm module. I was going to take it to my coder in town to try to trouble shoot it. I am looking for the cheapest way making my way up to what it actually is. Some have recommended a hard reset of the car which I have access too. And some say code it out. Now what I am thinking is ordering tisher has the module on there site for 147.00. Please help me trouble shoot before I waste a bunch of money on something that I am assuming has condinsation. Or do I wait it out for a week or two and see if the connections just need to dry. these are the pictures. Thanks in advance

We should meet up and figure it out. I have same problem. Moves left and right just fine but does not auto-level.

Had this same problem, moisture in headlights burnt out both the HID ballast and adaptive headlight module.
I replaced the ballast, sealed the headlight, and coded out the adaptive headlight vehicle package and errors. |

i had this problem. the adaptive headlight module is at the bottom of the headlight. if any moisture gets in the headlight. its the most likely to be affected. replace the module, get the car coded done. theyre like $100 at the dealer
