Protecting intercooler from rocks
I installed my VRSF intercooler Friday and immediately left for a 700 mile road trip. When I returned last night I noticed that I already had two small rocks lodged into the intercooler fins. Has anyone tried covering the bumper mesh or IC with some type of screen? Would this affect performance much?

it would affect the performance for sure because it would not have air going in....

You can get welded or weaved stainless steel mesh from McMaster.com pretty cheap. They even grade the open space for the different wire thicknesses and opening sizes. Something around a 0.050" wire and 1/4" openedng will do nicely without blocking too much airflow. Remember that the IC or any heat exchanger only needs an opening about 1/3 its frontal area.
