E90 Pre-LCI - Bright/Strong Light Bars?
Hey everyone,
Since someone did me the favor of doing a hit & run on my car and broke the cheap DEPO FULL LED rear taillamps on my car, I can now go back to stock and not deal with the light up delay on the brakes...(so cheap) However one thing I really wish my car had, was really strong light bars like the new LCI models. I really want these suckers to pop! (Image borrowed from E90post member Taxvictim) I noticed on pre-LCI E92's, and even E39 5-series' have much stronger and prominent looking lightbars. Is there something like an LED bulb I can pop in or something? |

I don't really understand what you are trying to say. If you want the LCI look you have to do an LCI conversion like ^^ mentioned.
I personally think the pre-lci light bars look extremely classy compared to the LCI ones. |

I think what he is asking is if he can make his stock pre-LCI light bars brighter by using LED bulbs rather than the stock. Basically, is there a way to make the stock light bars brighter?

The answer is no ATM. Even if you did the LCI rear conversion as I did, the light bars aren't as bright as you think in daytime although it looks sexier. =) It still used bulbs to light up the bars.

Sorry to bump the thread but has anyone replaced the OEM 7506 bulbs with a 27 or 28 watt 1156 bulb? According to :
http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=688484 using an 1156 should yield brighter output but also increased heat and current draw EDIT: According to the autozone website the 1156 draws 2.1 amperes and the 7506 draws 1.9 I'm not sure the difference between the two would be noticeable. Did anyone ever answer this question? If you put brighter bulbs or LEDs in here can you brighten the bars.
Ps..I'm not interested in the conversion. Thanks |
