PROcedeFlash Review, Datalogs included
A few days ago I posted a thread about my car's problems running the 5-23 Aggressive maps. I was on 91 Octane, my car's mods include DCI, catback, and PROcede Rev 2.5. I was hitting the fuel ceiling as you can see in this log below:
OL was set to 100%, overboost dropped to 16 from 18psi I went to FFTEC yesterday and had my car flashed with the new PROcedeFlash by Vishnu. Here is a log of the car with the new flash, set to 18psi, and OL set to 100% As you can see, OL set that high was way too rich, I was seeing 9:1 afrs at one point. So I dropped OL down to 50% and here is my log after doing so: The flash helped my car out significantly! no more fuel ceiling being smacked into on my crappy 91 octane, tomorrow I will be running a 50/50 e85 mix with the new flash and I will post some logs of how the car is running then. Thanks for reading.

Dme flash is different than a flash tune. So does this mean Cobb tune can also flash tcu logic since your saying flash tunes change dme parameters, why not the tcu.

Yes, it is a flash, but with a piggy also in the mix. I don't think COBB, GIAC, Evolve & other companies have been doing this.

Josh, I no longer have the first datalog showing 100% OL before the flash, but I updated the other two logs with AFR scaled accordingly.

The reason we do this is to give the user more flexibility when it comes to running higher boost pressures while running fuels with higher ethanol concentrations. In the case of the ProcedeFlash+Procede, running 100% e85 is now possible. This is a little different than the usual tune stacking approach since the ProcedeFlash alone runs stock-like boost, timing, AFR and fuel pressures. Which means the Procede is still in charge of tuning through its usual arsenal of features (CPS offsetting, wideband biasing, OL fuel adjustments, etc). The only difference is that, with the ProcedeFlash, you can run lower OL fuel values. Last edited by OpenFlash; 08-31-2012 at 11:14 AM.. |

so you increased load to make the dme push more fuel and the procede keeps boost to stock levels ?

Nope. With the Procede removed (or in valet mode) and boost being coontrolled by the ProcedeFlashed DME, boost levels are stock-like 6-10psi. You only see high boost with the Procede installed.

Any way to get this without having to ship my DME over to you? I have a lot of experience with flashing and programming control units so I'll take full responsibility for anything that could go wrong.

There will eventually be an at-home flashing option. But it is not yet available. And I dont have a very definite ETA on it. So mailing the DME to us is the only option at this time. We do same day turnaround to minimize downtime.

Logs look clean. The flash definitely helped with your fuel trims.

I love how you edited your post twice. The first time was a failed attempt to post some presumably disparaging image that didn't show up. After that fail, you wrote this ( a day later, I might add)
When it comes down to it, numbers talk and bullshit walks. What Cobb has done with it's new E85 maps is awesome to a degree, but there are no built in failsafes which is highly concerning. Also, FBO to FBO car, they're at least 50 horsepower behind. The Procede with a flash to increase fueling limitations is clearly the safest, most flexible, and powerful solution available. You'll find that when you're looking at facts and not calling people names, your lips are bright red.
