Locked KEYS in BMW ............. anyone help?
Hey, my keys were locked in my 06' 330i. I don't have the BMW Assist door unlock feature, so I don't know what to do.
Anyone have any luck with AAA or a locksmith? If so, how did the person do it? Thanks |

You can still call BMW road side assistance for help I believe.

Kidding. BMW roadside should be able to help; if the car is in a safe place, you can go to a dealer to order a new key, should take about two days. you'll need proof of ownership.

get your spare key if you can't find it order a new one ( the little plastic one) is only $70 at the dealer that may be cheaper than a locksmith.
BTW: the tennis ball thing does not work on our cars, that only work on old cars our locking system is electric, even the handle inside the car is electric is not connected to anything

Did you hear about the polack that locked his keys in his car? Took him 4 hours to get his family out.

My boss used to be a cop in MD. They locked their keys in their SUV on their way back from transporting a prisoner. They were too far away to have spare keys brought out, so they called a lock smith. The lock smith managed to break 2 lock cylinders (driver and rear rear hatch) before getting the passenger door open. Total cost, $500. When they got back to the station, the boss said "Do you know how much it is going to cost to have those lock cylinders replaced? Did you know that with our contract, it only costs us $150 to have a side window replaced? Next time, find a rock."

1) get out of the car 2) leave one door open 3) press lock in keyfob 4) throw keys inside car 5) close door yes yes who in their right mind would do this? but aside from that, will the above scenario do it?

Hold a cell phone near the door.
Have the person on the other end press the open button (edit: on a spare key fob) near the mouthpiece of their cell phone. Watch doors open. Only works with cell phones (both parties need to be on the cell). |

Even if the signal was audible, this wouldn't work because of the way cellphones compress the audio. The sound heard on the other end is not exactly same as what was transmitted. Certain frequency ranges are lost and there is distortion. And if you were joking, make sure you mark it as such so people don't start to believe this. You wrote it as though it is fact. http://urbanlegends.about.com/librar...nlock_door.htm |

1. find your spare key
2. look for you plastic key 3. call BMW assist from your cell phone. Even if you do not have the "feature" they should be able to help you one way or another. 4. Get towed to the dealer...and be ready to explain how it happened. GL bro!
