B6 S4 with all bolt ons take a 335i procede?
Just as the title suggests.... AND please, no flaming of either car... Something I would like to know...
Can a B6 S4 (4.2 V8) Sedan w/ 6sp Manual with full exhaust, chip, down pipes, intake etc... take a chipped 335i? (not V2 Procede) Has any one had the chance to run 1? Thanks |

Yes, I was the first person in the country to run this exact race with my PROcede v1.2 sedan.
Being one of the first 30 people to get the PROcede after release, I had it installed at the LA Dyno Day install. There was a guy there with the exact Audi you describe except it was an auto. I know the auto stinks in the Audi, but the manual wouldn't of helped him much. It was a 2005 with the whole she-bang on it. He was cool and he wanted to know how his car compared to the PROceded 335i. So literally 2 minutes after the install we went out on this open street for a couple runs. It wasn't really close. To be honest, I think a STOCK 335i would have a chance of running with the V8 S4 6MT with all those mods, and a stock 335i would beat the auto S4 with those mods by a bit. Keep in mind the B6 S4 stock traps at about 101-102 mph on average. With those mods it's probably 105 mph...or about what a stock 335i traps at. I'll find the original post I made of this and put a link to it here for you. BTW, that guy was so impressed I think he sold his S4 and got a 335i instead. Here is the link to my original post back in February. The first couple paragraphs describe the Audi vs PROcede (v1.2) race. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...7&highlight=S4 |

Stock 335i is a match for the B6 S4 (my previous car). The real problem with a modded S4 is there really aren't that many performance enhancing mods available. An ECU flash downpipes and catbacks are about the only thing that will make the S4 any faster other than a big weight loss program.

Tell that to the Audi guys. Some of them think they drive Veryons.
On audizine.com some of them say the "3 series" are a piece of shit. It's ok. They are just upsed because the Procede'ed 335 can beat a RS4, let alone a S4.

The B6 S4 is a well equipped but heavy cruiser. There really isn't much more power to be gotten out of its V8, and any tuner/owner that isn't delusional will admit that. The earlier (2000-2002) B5 S4's however are twin turbos V6's, and you can mod them, up to 320-400+hp, (bigger turbos, ICs, fueling, etc.) It's not hard, and has been pretty well sorted out by now They might not handle as well right out of the box, but modded they can walk a B6 in terms of raw speed. Maybe at triple digit speeds the V8 might come back into play tho. There's a fair amount of rivalry/respect between B5 and B6 owners, each partial to their own advantages over the other.
