M3 Clutch / Drivetrain Compatibility

Wondering if anyone has looked into whether the M3 clutch was interchangeable with ours. Tried searching, but found nothing. They do however use the same transmission, albeit with a different bell-housing and input shaft possibly.

I read a thread where people were talking about using the M3 rear end in these cars, but IIRC the drive shaft needed to be shortened. Does anyone know if this swap was actually ever performed?

Just wondering if any of the beefed-up parts from the M3 swap in outside of suspension.

M3 has less torque than n54 so dont see why you would want to use that. Diff has been swapped just search for the thread.

Yeah I thought that, but I also figured they might over-engineer like they did with the N54 internals.

I'll see if I can find it... and hopefully get a ballpark in cost.

Looks like too much work and room for error...
Shortened drive shaft and half shafts.

Question is why do you want to use the m3 one? Is yours slipping? There are many options out done for the n54 so i would look into that instead of focusing on m3 parts that probably wont work out well... If you cant find any info here on that means 99% it cant be done.

No, but I plan on going single turbo shortly and want to keep stock drivability. Right now I am looking at Spec 2+ with stock FW.

Yeah, but I want to be able to launch on slicks without welding the clutch when I get to that point. Plus Spec is about half the cost.

Can anyone confirm if the HPF clutch is just a WAY marked up South Bend feramic clutch? HPF is notorious for rebranding South Bend clutches and slapping their name on it. The SB ferramic is only around 800 if I remember right.
