For how many of you, is the E9x your first BMW?

Seems like the E9x's have attracted a lot of new buyers.

My e92 will be my 3rd BMW(two e46's before it).

Yes. I always loved BMW's but all the ones with decent speed had always been M's, which is more than what I can afford currently.

This was my first, but I've wanted one since high school (the days of the E30). Talk about delayed gratification.

There were times when I probably could have done it sooner, but I had priorities. The next step will be to get a Porsche.

The E90's my first, but I wouldn't say it's what attracted me as a buyer. Wanted one for a few years and have always liked the looks of the E46. They just happened to switch bodystyles when I finally had the money to afford one.

My first and definitely not my last. Until other carmakers can connect the driver to the road, it will be difficult for me to buy a different 40-50k car.

I think it's all about size preference. I know a person who sold his 7 series and got an M3 after his kids went off to college. The only reason he had a 7 was to house all the kids and his wife.

Had an E30 as a toy car before. It was definitely a very fun car- 5 speed, RWD, I6, etc. Although I've always liked the E46 styling, the E90 was starting to grow on me. Regardless, both are excellent cars.

It is my first BMW. BMW styling really did not appeal to me in the past. Seemed too "teutonic" and dry to me. When I first saw the e92 however I fell in love. It is a sexy MF for sure. On top of that it handles great, can't beat it with a stick. I see myself getting another Bimmer in the future, however I am not ruling out a Porsche or Aston eventually.

This will be my first biimmer, I've always had a negative opinion towards benz and bmw because of their history of problems.

But I'm 22 and I have my entire life to try different cars so i thought id give them a try. I've always had jap cars, and always loved their build quality and reliablilty. But due to the problems of my Z and the sexy good looks of the e92 I jumped on board.

If it wasnt for the e92 id be in a s4

As for the benz....no problems soo far...i love being pampered in a loaded e350

This is actually the 1st BMW I ever considered buying. I always thought BMW cars were under-powered, over-priced chick cars (except the M series which were just over-priced). Sure, they may have handled well, but they had no balls (excluding M series).

I still think the 3 series is way over-priced for what it is, but they finally put a real motor in a non-M 3 and I bit.

Don't agree. I bought this car for it's price/performance ratio...not because it "fits" my age. I saw a 50 year old woman driving a new 911 in Germany so age means nothing. You should drive what you like and that fit's your lifestyle. Obviously I wouldn't buy a E92 if I had 3 kids and needed to drive them in it constantly.

I agree. Finally had a body style I loved and a powerful engine to justify the price. Plus Audi dropped their Turbo V-6 long ago

64 years of age here. I wanted to have some real fun before they slammed the lid on me. This car is a ball and I love it. I don't care about a chick mobile. Done all I needed to and wife said I had to retire it. Just my two cents.

LMAO!!! I've always driven 2 door coupe type cars. No way do I want a 5 or 7 series. WAY too big for me. Even the 6 felt too boxy.

And you might change your opinion IF you make it to 40.
