Auto ture off headlights

I thought that if you leave the headlights or parking lights on, they will auto shut off in a time frame to prevent a dead battery.

anyone know this.

reason: I am putting in my PIAA halo rings, and what to turn off the yellowish drls and use just my rings as drls.

I don't want to do the wiring thingy..just leave on my parking lights full time and have them shut off by themselves.

You have to put them in 'auto' for them to 'auto' shut off.

Parking lights on means exactly that... parking lights on. it won't shut off.
