535i does 12.4 in the 1/4 mile
Just thought I would share my experiences at the track last night. Did about 7 runs all together and my best time was 12.4 and it was my 3rd run of the night. I was trapping 114 at the end of the 1/4 with a 2.055 60'. I am 6mt with my only mods being DCI and Procede rev 3 on 50/50 mix of 93/e85. I had the biggest grin on my face the whole time as the car was strong throughout the shifts. Now for the bad news after that run I ran a best of 13.150 @ 106 and could not even get into high 12s. Is it time for a bigger intercooler or is there something I can do to keep those numbers consistent. I did feel the car fall flat on its face right after I get into 3rd gear almost every run after my 12.4 run. Did something happen? I have no codes but car feels like its maxing out fuel trims and hesitates for almost a whole second and then off we go again .. Anyone have any suggestions?

Without logs we are all guessing but an intercooler would help consistency for sure. Not sure if there is an intercooler for the 5 series though? Hmmm

Without an intercooler or meth, your runs will get slower as the day progresses. But great results!

Would have logged my runs but I have yet to run the usb cable through the firewall will eventually get to it but for now I just pop the hood to change maps, although its getting rather annoying going back and forth between the e85 and 93 octane maps. Might change that soon as I think I need that DME flash as well as the e85 kit that shiv just released.

Ya, IC and dps would help but with 25 minutes in between runs, your times should have been off that much from your best time.
Perhaps I'm wrong. Either way, congrats on the 12.4! |

And honestly I did expect my runs to get slower due to heat soak but not that drastically, right after my 12.4 run I couldn't even get close to that time even with a 1.8 ft 60' I only managed to do 13.150 and that was after taking a 1 hr break , also the tempratue last night was about 67 degrees. Are there any updates coming up for the current e85 maps available for download? Or is it only going be possible to get updates via the flex fuel kit now available ?

Nice! I have been eye-balling E60 535i prices. Want to put the 335 on track full time and have a nicer, larger family truckster that can pull like crazy without V10-poor gas mileage.

This is the easiest, quickest way. Push the cable inside the channel between the hood and the fender so you won't see it, then right into the door. My car is black so you can't see the cable at all.

Great times man.
I think there is something wrong. Heat soak will not bring trap speeds from 114 to 106. I do back to back laps on 95 degree plus days and my traps stay within 1mph ALWAYS (AT tranny helps but still). I only have a tune and drop in filter. Maybe you could go from 114 to 110 or 111mph from heat soak but I wouldn't think much more. Good luck with finding the issue and once again, killer run in that big pig with tune and filters only.

OP- do you have your timeslip on the 12.4 run? Might be worth submitting to dragtimes as I think that is a new 535 (n54) world record

I'm wondering if the 12.4 was the time of the person he was running.
To run 12.4 with a 2.055 60 would mean he probably should be in the 117mph range I'd guess. Even with a lot of heat soak its crazy to see a car lose that much time. |

Awesome times OP! You def need logs. Sounds like major timing pull.
We have essentially the same mods (but I have procede v3) and car but I run 12.4@118.x on 19" street tires. 111mph is low for e85 and FBO. |

+1. Unless he is running at an extremely slow track, 111mph traps is slow for an FBO 335 running an e85 tune. Your Procede is capable of advancing timing beyond the factory setpoint which does give you the advantage over TotalBlackout. But that should only account for 1-3mph.

I'm not FBO. I just have tune and downpipes. My 12.8 was last run of my first night ever running anything on the strip. My first run was like 16s at 80mph because I didn't know where the finish line was.
