Shark Fin STOLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just found my shark fin was ripped apart from the roof of my coupe.
 How much would a new one cost and would my insurance pay for it? IF they pay for it would still i have to pay the deductable?? i m feelin so terrible !!!!  |

There were no wires hanging out but i guess it has bmw assist and antenna chips enclosed in a hard tranparent plastic. Y wud someone need dat.....or is it possible that it might have come out of its own while i was driving???? first thing tomrw mornin i will cal my CA.
i m still feeling so terrible.. |

+ 1 that messed up, I'm sorry to hear post some pictures

just tell your SA it fell off and it will be covered under warranty for free! if you tell him it was stolen, then you are going to be paying for a new fin and labor cost to install it. I wonder if it needs to be painted or is it factory colored already?

But its not easy to remove them. It took me and my tech about 45mins to remove one. The glue/adhesive is so stuck on there it would take the painted finish off.

thaks calvino for that link.....
only the cover is missing.... the remaining stuff (antenna, phone, sat radio) is intact covered in a plastic body still attached to the roof. Only the cover came off. the glue/adhesiveis still stuck with the roof and didnt came off....well first thing tomrw i will talk to my SA and tell him that it came off n try to get it replaced under warranty. |

That's sucks. Do you think they can sell it? for, like $50... I was pissed off, when my car cover was stolen during my vacation. My place is gated community with 7-series, Jag, SL inside, why did they stole mine?!?!
If it's so difficult to remove it. Then, you better look the paint around the fin, they might use force and leave scratches |

I bet it was a MB/Infiniti Owner!
J/K  If it didn't fly off then that is jacked up. I would hope it doesn't come a trend. Like when people thought stealing MB symbols were cool. But like people are saying, as long as there isn't evidence of someone forcefully removing it BMW should replace it for free!
