Park light stays on?

I noticed last night that the light next to the "P" indicating the car is in park (near the shirt lever) stayed on when i shut the car off and locked it. It stayed on for quite awhile (checked quite a few times and drove it a few times) It did finally go off but I was wondering of it does stay on normally for awhile?

Yes, it stays on untill the car enters sleep mode

It could take up to 15min or more

Thanks for the quick reply.

My car was delivered on July 11th..I had back surgery on the 13th..and have not been able to drive it till last night..the ultimate torture was having the car in my garage for a week and not being able to drive it.
