E92 Window Seals Blow Open?
Okay so I was naughty a couple of times in my coupe going about 90+ on the freeway and most of the time as I would get to a high rate of speed, it sounded like my cabin noise increased because the windows blew open slightly at the seal
Any one else with a coupe notice this? I told my dealer but I'm worried that they won't hear it because I don't know if dealers are allowed to take cars to that high of a speed |

No it's definitely wind entering the cabin noise. When I start going fast, it sounds like a small pop and then it gets really loud. When I slow back down to about 80, the noise goes away.
In any case, I have a large laundry list of items that the dealer needs to address and this is just one of them. My concern was how they would be able to duplicate the problem |

My coupe makes a crapload of noise if you go over 100 or so and I notice it doesn't lessen to the level it was at 80 unless you go decently slower than that first. I think it's the seal popping but I don't hear a "pop". The behavior matches a pop though.
I experienced this not half an hour ago, once you go over 100 it's loud as hell until you drop below 60 or so.

A $40K auto designed to travel a speed should not make that kind of noise. Did a ED delivery; cursing the autobahn at 100 mph and the coupe was as quite and smooth as a BMW should be.

Right. Ive had my coupe 8 months and I have never had any loud noises at all. It is super smooth and quiet at well over 100.

Did you notice if it was windy outside when this happened? The hill that it happened to me on is usually windy but I also did it on a long straight and it happened to me as well. It's not a loud pop... more like a bunch of noise coming in to the cabin very quickly. Maybe I heard the pop in my head but I know that there was a lot of noise in the cabin all of a sudden |

NO, I often drive 100mph and my car is just as quiet as if you are going 50mph.

J/K I don't have a e92, but my e90 is whisper quiet at 135mph. I hit that speed every weekend and haven't had any problems up to now. Currently at 10K miles.. I don't see how the e92 would be any different. Maybe a mishap happeneded at the factory? A thorough inspection should reveal the cause.

OP: It sounds like you need to get your window(s) adjusted. The seal shouldn't break on you if it's adjusted correctly. I bet right now you probably get water in your car too when you wash it. When i had a side window replaced they didn't, at first, correctly adjust the window and it leaked water and the seal would break at high speeds. Now it's fixed. I had to finally get it done correctly at a body shop since my dealer couldn't get it right. Best of luck.

You need an adjustment, bring it to the dealer.

My E92's cabin sounds like a hurricane once you go past 120mph. Completely unacceptable.
I'll have it checked/adjusted in the next few days. Several E92 here in Argentina had this same problem, so the original poster of this thread is definitively not alone!!!

No water gets in to the cabin when I wash but OT... a large pool of water will gush out when I open the doors after I wash... it seems to get stuck right where the door and the lower rear quarter panel meet. When I open a lot of water spills out. It could be because I park at a slight incline? Either way I have a lot of problems with this car that I should not be having. I'm actually considering giving the car up. |

Update
So it looks like my window trim was out of adjustment and that they are going to replace it....
Don't know how THAT happened or HOW they found that out but at least it should be fixed |

I've just left my car at the dealer to get this problem sorted. It looks like it just needs a window adjustment.
I'll keep everyone posted of any news from my side, after I get my car back.
