Anyone tried car wash at a BMW dealership?

I think the wash for both interior and exterior costs around 100 something bucks, thought i would give it a try.

has anyone had experience this service at the dealerships?
any comments??

if its not worth it then i'd better cancel it before the appointment

thanks guys

don't do it....take it someplace else and spend that 100 or a little bit more, and they will do much better. a dealership is exactly what its name says...they sell cars first...not wash cars...get my point?

Don't do it. Get a professional detailer to take care of it. I went to the dealer for a service, came out, and the car seriously looked like it was keyed up on both sides. Stupid car wash. I complained and the service manager had a shop do a full detail on it for free. Now its good as new again.

A strong, definite, no. Make sure you also request that when they service your car that they don't wash it either, otherwise it's "complimentary." My dealership even comments that they use a brushless car wash but I still don't trust it.

Do it yourself, or pay a little more to get it done, you'll be much happier with the results.

Yea all the dealers claim to use touchless washes. When I walk around back, they have like 4 brushes in it. So I was like wtf. But my file now says Do Not Wash after the last incident.

...except that the detail job that dealer did on wife's E92 at delivery is one of the best I've seen. Over three weeks since delivery and I still have not washed it - Cal Duster glides over the metal like it was just waxed. Neighbors remark at the 'paint job'. Talked to a friend who's in the car business 20+ years around here, and he says my dealer (and one other local BMW dealer) are among the top places around to have a car detailed.

I always pass up the dealer wash, too.

Like TopDown, I have to say that my new car prep (from Passport BMW in MD) was absolutely amazing. No swirls and the car was just perfect.

My prep looked amazing. Then after I started washing it. I was like OMFG....Holograms everywhere on the hood and trunk. It was horrible. Some are still there. But its better. And a fresh wax job tends to hide it. Be wary of dealers cause sometimes they don't know how to use a buffer properly and its usually like 18 yo kids doing it.

You have to PAY to get teh dealership to wash your car? Here, my friends there (sales and service) tell me to bring it by on weekends, they want to keep their image up and wash it. I don't have their license frame or anything. My sales friend told me to bring it by to have his IBM polish out some of the scratches, but never with a price tag attached. I just haven't had time to get it scheduled and take the car in.

No!!!! had my X5 after going from CA back to TX...it was a mud monster truck. Had them oil and service next day. They wash my SUV...after that a new 760 for some drug dealer. lol. Same bucket, same cloth and couple new. Use same brush to get those grease and dirt off my wheels. Then brush into those shiny bling bling rims.

I just laughed after I drove off. They are lazy and cheap. Don't fall for that Free Car Wash shit.

my brother takes his jet black 5 series. they do a good job of installing swirls and spots on it. it drives me nuts whenever i see him take it there... but it's still better than him trying to wash it himself costing me all my tools, wipes, and chemicals i bought to wash my car!
