Car is dead

Well yesterday I was on my way home and a message came on the screen alerting me that the alernator had a malfunction. I was like OK...I'll take it in on Monday. Well today I start the car and the car is falling apart. A lot more messages are coming up and the screen fades in and out. And the car seems to "shiver". I am really upset beyond doubt. I am sure they have to replace the alternator. Who else has had this?

Thanks,

not in my 328 but i had a corolla that the alternater went out on. i would assume loss of electrical power will give all kinds of error messages. sounds like an alternator to me.

yeah if the alternator goes out, then the battery can't be recharged.. so you've got an electrical failure just like 328zsp said. you might have to get it towed to the dealer.

Yup if the battery dies, or if you get a low battery you will get all kinds of lights. Just have it towed in. Call Roadside too they will come out and do a system test and tell you on the spot whats wrong, even replace the battery if needed.

A faulty voltage regulator will also not allow the battery to charge.
