335 xi Stutter Step

I have a new 335 xi with automatic transmission. When I accelerate slowly from stop I have a subtle but noticeable stutter or hesitation at low rpm. It's almost like the car has a carburator. It is very different than my Y2003 330xi which has an incredibly silky smooth constant and reliable acceleration. It is hard for me to beleive that this is a turbo issue.

Has anyone similar issue with their car? Is this normal?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have an auto 335xi that is on its way over after an ED. I know what you are talking about. It feels like a clutch briefly slipping in a manual. But I am not an expert because I have not really gotten to know the car yet.

The more I 'stabbed' at the gas, the worse it seemed. The smoother I pressed the gas, the less obvious it was.

I figured it was due to me not being use the BMW gas pedal being attached at the bottom. Curious if any one else chimes in on this.

Mine does it as well. I noticed the same thing on my old 540 also, so I just figure it is a BMW thing.

Thats something I noticed on a test drive.. I don't know much about BMW.. but if it was a jdm car i would say its the tq converter spooling up and then when it locks up you feel the full tq or the twin turbos.

Mine does the same thing but only when cold. When she is at normal operating temp or close to it the shifts are silky smooth.

I have noticed the same problem. I thought that it was because I gave it a soft break-in and the adaptive transmission has just learned that behavior. When my wife drives it, she doesn't feel it. She's used to her E46 330xi. I must drive like a sissy...
