Nope, nothings wrong, keep driving normally. Dont read the owners manual or call the dealer either, they wont have a clue.

It's just a test to see what you will do when confronted with warning lights, just like they do on the space shuttle when they test the astronauts ability to solve problems when they have system failures.

Can you imagine the posts on the NASA website?

Hi, this is my first trip into space and I've just left earth's gravitational pull. A warning light just came on that said the oxygen tanks are too low. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Nothing, because I do not know the answer to his problem. I think it is better to be quiet in that case.

Take it into the dealership and tell them about the check engine light.

Ok, Sorry STE92VE. Maybe I was just pissed off because somebody keyed my car last night.. Luckily it was my TT not the BMW.

Generally I just hate when some one makes jokes on someones serious questions, but admit your comments are some times quite funny..

I know.. Luckily they keyed the windscreen and understand that it may be possible to fix it without replacing the whole thing because the scratches are not very deep. Need to find out next week..
What makes this worse is that the car is on sale now..

It may have been my neighbour´s cat too and I will kill it anyway just in case

My neighbors cat clawed the crap out my TT's hood... I frekin hate cats.

but to the OP, 800 miles you are under warranty take it in and have them look at it, that is dissapointing that it came on in under 1000 miles though.

To the OP: if it's running okay, and your dealership is close by (<20 miles), I'd drive it. If you have any doubt at all, call BMW Assist and they'll tow it to the dealer for free. (It's just a little inconvenient.) No need to make an appointment with the dealer, just go -- for a critical problem like this it's fine. (But if you do it through BMW Assist they may notify the dealer as well.)

Haha nah he's alright, just joking around...

We get bombarded with these kind of questions, if your warning light comes on...take ur car to the dealer...

There are hundreds of factors that can lead to the caution light, only the dealer know what triggered it. Unless you have a OBDII reader that tell you..
