Are E90 320i/325i diff the same?

Hi All,

I need to replace the diff in my E90 320i and have found a second hand e90 325i diff with low km's for sale, but not sure if it will fit?

Does anyone here know?

Thanks in advance.

current diff whines...started at only 40,000kms (2006 build). according to BMW technician, this is becoming increasingly common.

BMW 320 i 2008

It seems like this is quiet common , I have just done 59,000 k"s Have the same diff problem needs replacement , took in into BMW two days before my warranty expired they put the noise down to brake pads striking on the rotor lip.
Realised a few months later when it got worse that it was the dif they dont want to know about it . Last month replaced the Air con and drier, these E90 are crap dont buy them if you can help it

Write a polite letter to the Service Manager requesting that they fix the diff under warranty given that the symptoms were reported while the car was still under warranty. Furthermore as the problem was initially mis-diagnosed by the dealership, this further exacerbated the problem/damage.

If you get no joy, write to BMW Australia explaining the situation. If BMW don't come to the party, lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs/Fair Trading.
