ACT clutch install problems

I just got my ACT street clutch installed and now i have no traction in 2nd gear!!

I guess my old clutch was really toast. I never have had an issue with traction from the 1-2 shift, now the whole car kicks sideways going into second gear and i can see that i need a LSD very badly now.

Now my pedal is rather stiff, the engagment point is about the same but it feels like a whole different car now

Having a real LSD would really make this car a whole lot better. I wish I had gotten one.

oh man, I'm jealous of all these new clutches. Mines still holding up, but engagement has graduated to the very top. Can feel the disc by just resting my foot gently on the pedal. I'm slightly detuned and drive carefully, but still holding. This winter, I'm sure it will give up.

How's yours holding Jeff?

I dont have my BMW anymore. But it was not holding up at 24K miles FBO+Meth. At the time I had to reduce the mid-range boost to keep it in check. The pressure plate is simply not strong enough for 470WHTQ or atleast not for very long. Clutch was never burnt or abused at a track either.

I have this exam same issue with my ACT clutch. I get the same problem in first, and even low rpm's in third. Something must be done!

I stand corrected. I only had DCI/Tune/DP/Meth (STOCK FMIC and Stock Exhaust) the last few months of ownership.

I dont want to take away from the OP's thread so i'll make it short and sweet:

It stops, turns, and goes better then my 335i. Only downside is no back seat and it gets 19-20MPG. I've still yet to find the limit of adhesion through turns and I hit .85 G on the scale (stock heads up display) and I question who the hell would drive any harder on the street. I love the traction from a dig and you slam 2nd gear, and it just goes with no fuss. A quick chirp and no bog and it will send you (stock) from 0-100 in a touch over 7 seconds and it pulls like a train up top. 4th went to about 160 and it just keeps pulling. It's likely the best bang for the buck super car out of the box. Only car more practical in the price range( and still a little more) is the GTR, but out of the box the z06 trap is faster.

Perhaps I'll write a more in depth review in the appropriate section.

If anyone needs a clutch I'm a PM away
I'll still on the forums to help the e90 community so I hope nobody gets deterred with me not having the car anymore.
