iphone 4s and bluetooth issue :(

Hi all, I just recently purchased a fully loaded 2006 330i with iDrive. The previous owner showed me how his flip phone worked fine with bluetooth with the car, but I can't get my iphone 4s to pair I enter in the same pin on both phones, then hit up on the knob, and down on the return arrow, and then i get the 'could not pair' msg. Any ideas? I've tried about 5 times. If the system is just old, and not compatible with the iphone 4s, what are alternative choices to get BT working in the car? some type of kit perhaps? I have searched the forums, and found plenty of threads with issues with BT but non seem to help with the issue I'm having. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I currently have an iPhone 4S paired with a Parrot CK Evolution car kit, and it works pretty well for the most part. It's not the same as OEM though, and the sound is so-so. Installation was easy once you order the harnesses (I forget what brand, but if you search for the Parrot install I'm sure it'll come up). I'm currently working on getting factory bluetooth retrofitted to my car.

Well I already have bluetooth in the car and it works with certain phones it seems. Maybe I just need to switch out an old module to a newer one? Or I'm doing something wrong in the pairing process?

Got it working yay

Engine on
iphone wireless off
go through pairing process
AFTER pin is entered make sure to select 'CONFIRM PASSCODE' on the iDrive screen, only now it will pair!
