wash at home not an option.. what "TYPE" of car wash avoids swirl marks?

New car on the way Montego Blue 335xi question is how do I NOT get swirl marks on the paint.... with my current car color Audi's quartz gray metallic it wasnt an issue since it was a light color... I'm afraid of swirl marks with the darker paint bmw... I'm guessing I need a "BRUSHLESS" car wash? Thanks in advance guys.

Cant wash it at home because I dont have my own driveway...

i had this problem also, i found that washing it at one of those places with the pressure washers is the best. O yea, and when using, I never squeezed the handle for the higher pressure, i just left it at low pressure the whole time...After that, i'd go for a quick drive, come back to the wash and dry my car in the shade somewhere with the mf towels i keep in the trunk...

I also think a "diy" place with a pressure washer is the way to go in your situation. I have done this before when I'm out of town. However since I am an anal sob, I will only use the "water portion", and will never use their soap. I bring a bag full of goodies with me. I also would never drive my car around immediately after my final rinse, then pull over to dry it. That just increases the risk of getting some sort of contaminent on your car, then scratching your paint when you dry with cf towels. I actually have a battery powered leaf blower that pulls apart and fits in my trunk that I use while still parked in the wash bay. Then I "dab" with my cf towels.

anything and everything that touches your car has the potential to induce swirls. There is no such thing as a swirless car wash.

Laserwash bays are the best IMO. Just as good as the bays with the high pressure hose but you don't have to get out of the car. I find that is the closest my car will ever get to clean w/o actually hand washing it.

As for your waterless wash product I would look into Poorboys QD lineup. The Spray and Wipe is a great product or you can grab the Spray and Gloss which is the same product but has some other stuff to give the paint and more shiney glossy look. Both can be bought from George at Detailed Image (www.detailedimage.com)

i bring a bucket to the pressure washers, fill the bucket with the low pressure filtered water and use my own soap, wash the car like i were at home, use the low pressure again to rinse, then dry

FYI wetting your car then driving around and coming back and drying it is the dumbest thing you could do, some people amaze me

Can you give me the brand of leafblower? I am in Europe with 220 and won't spend the money for one here but battery powered would work as well here as in the US...

Better yet, bring your own water filled bucket to the car wash. That way, you aren't risking the wash's filter being jacked up. Imagine scrubbing grit contaminated water all over your finish!

I think that would be a "tad" hard to bring a water filled bucket. lol Imagine pulling up into the wash to find your bucket empty and all the water in your car or trunk. lol

This is what I use to clean my car with. I now use the power wash option much less often due to the concerns posted here, but will still use it if I need to get in the fenderwells, etc.

Some recommend using a garden sprayer filled with ONR as a substitute for the hose, but the only problem with that is the stream is much less powerful for deep crevice cleaning...
